getting the speakers for the front door of the vanagon has 2 problems if the grille is too tall - the window crank will hit it... but they sell a riser/adapter for the window crank to clear it - the grill will hit or rub against the side of the dashboard.. after looking and trying a while I found these one that are quite good... https://www.crutchfield.com/S-rSV0sPeQSld/p_099SE4000/Eclipse-SE4000.html in the past I just skip the grilles altogether and leave it bare...
