Depending on year and cruise control there is also some interface with the starter circuit, brake lights, alternator circuits etc. If a starter helper relay was added or LED brake light bulbs one of those changes could be the problem.

Brake Light Warning Light won't turn off ~ Have checked switch under E'Brake Handle

& it seems to be functioning properly & Switch on Fluid Res' & Fluid Level are Good & from what

can be seen of Brake Light Switches without removing Inst'Cluster the Connectors are in place ~
