Great reading the comments from you old-timers and especially Dan's recounting of his vanagon experiences.

I've been on the list since 2014, arriving soon after I purchased my first Westy, a 1983 that was in quite bad shape body-wise though fairly strong mechanically. I stripped that one down to the metal, repaired the body and gave it a new paint job - a lovely Dove blue, still my favourite vanagon colour.

But after a year or so I was coveting a later model with a bit more oomph, so I sold it and purchased an 87 that was stock in almost all respects. It has been a great vehicle and I use it daily for both work and play.

I hope this list continues for a long time yet. I have been the beneficiary of helpful advice on numerous occasions. In fact, this list is one of the main reasons I am able to drive and enjoy a vehicle that is now more than 30 years old.

I not sure who the list admins are that keep it running so smoothly, but many thanks whoever you are!

Rick
