Subject: Actuator?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8"

Hi, everyone,

A few years ago, my parked van was hit by someone backing out of a parking space. Body damage was minimal, but after the accident, the driver side power door lock keeps locking and unlocking continuously whether you lock it with a key or use the lock button. The passenger door works fine.

I took it to a Vanagon mechanic, and he said it’s probably the driver side lock actuator, but he told me he was having trouble locating the part.

Is one of these actuators *(Van Cafe <https://www.vancafe.com/255959781AFT-p/255959781aft.htm>)* or (*Bus Depot <http://www.busdepot.com/255959781>)* the right one for my 90 Westy automatic? The Bus Depot part is less than half the price of the one from the Van Cafe. Why would that be? About how much time would it take a pro to install it?

Thanks in advance! :-)

Patti
