Late to this party, but for a fire ring, I bring a maul to split the oak and pine logs from those 20lb boxes of wood. Otherwise, a Bruks small forest axe. I love that thing. It's light, but has enough heft to go through dry pine like butter.

The only battery powered item I bring with me, beside the Westy, is a headlamp or Surefire LED flashlight.
