> Avoid Safelite. Most of their guys have no idea how to do a rubber set > window. The seal they use is a bus style seal without out the style in it > and is too fat to make the curves. Generally the only glass they install > has a Dark Blue shade that makes your van look like a Ford Aerostar. > Do society a favor and use an independent shop or self employed > Mobile guy. Ask around or do a YELP search for Autoglass near you. To my knowledge all of the currently available windshields come from the same supplier (PPG) no matter where you buy them. There used to be a version with a tint at the top and one without, not sure if both are still made. Prices can vary dramatically so it's worth calling two or three auto glass places. If you're worried about the seal you can always buy one from us. If you have a lot of rot under the windshield we sell inexpensive weld-in repair sections that are properly contoured (our part # 251898035). Ron Salmon The Bus Depot, Inc. www.busdepot.com |
