Subject: JP Group Power Steering U Joint Fitment Issues?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8"

Hi folks.

This is regarding the power steering universal joint that joins the rack shaft to steering shaft.

Looking on the internet, it seems that various vendors all sell the JP Group universal joint.

While installing this part, has anyone run into fit issue where the cross bolt will not fit or is a very tight fit? i.e. bolt threads get damaged while pushing the bolt through?

Some years ago, I purchased what looks like the same JP Group universal joint. I recently ran into some fitment issues while installing that part. I may buy another so amy wondering if there were manufacturing flaws in earlier versions of this part or maybe I just got a "bad" one.

The issue in my case appears to be that the bolt holes were drilled (located) too close to the groove in rack shaft and milled slot in steering shaft.

Thanks

Neil.
