Hi folks, Quick version. Van had loss of power climbing a steep hill in second gear. Engined to me seemed louder then usual but mabe my imagination. Heidi, driver, reported loss of power and got us into a pull off and the van died. No restart, no fluids on ground. All levels normal. No restart. Heidi announced to me, before I could make a conclusion, the fuel pump is not working. I had her turn on the key and the buzzer sounded but no fuel pump. sound. We were moving me out of my house so the van was packed with stuff. My spare pump was at the bottom of the mess. Art came to help with a spare pump but his multi meeter indicated no power to the pump. The relay is buried under tons of junk. I decide to get a tow home. Van is in the driveway. Is there a way to easily test our relay theory? Not sure I can get a new relay until Monday, or more correctly order one by Monday. Are there better sources of good relays for this area? I’m told the two in the box are the same and the other is for the ECU. So, I’ll also get a spare.
Tips, suggestions and thoughts about the issue appreciated. Eric Caron 85 GL Auto |
