I expect the wire will dangle because this van had a botched A/C retrofit that was installed by the VW dealership only one month after the van was originally delivered to the customer. Which date is the van? I'm not sure. The black and white plate (driver's side door frame) reads: 02/86 (top right of plate), INCOMPLETE VEHICLE MANUFACTURED 12/85 MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY AND BUMPER STANDARDS IN EFFECT IN 12/85 VIN: WV2ZB0250GH051437
