Thanks again for that information Bob. What epoxy did you use?

To report back....

My new JP Group U joint solved the steering return to centre issue. I didn't feel any play in the new U joint, bearing caps look ok but I may epoxy the caps with JB Weld or Permatex Steel as a "safety".

I don't know if Terry Kay still rebuilds these U joints but I'll likely send my old one to him. If its even a viable core.
