Hey Ryan,
I’ve futzed around with the fridge and fans for too long and to varying degrees of success. One mod I made which I do like is controlling the fin fan with a programmable controller rather than the switch Thermo switch on the fins.
Right now I have the controller mounted on the grill adjacent to the table. I have a nicer controller, and inkbird brand, that I plan to install in the front metal fascia of the kitchen unit.
In any case, the controller allows you to input a set point for the fan to be switched on. It comes with its on thermocouple on a generous length of line. I attached that TC to the same place that the stick thermo switch is located.
You can have fun deciding in the fan set point..... should I go to the stock switch value of around 45C? Or should I get ahead of the curve and have the set point lower.
I’m half joking about that being fun.
Also, the controller can be switched off. That means the fan won’t come on dur8ng those high temp days and the fridge not running .
Anyway, I encourage you to look at the range of 12v programmable temp controllers out there.
