I had the old transmission/transaxle original cooling system replaced with a GoWesty external cooling system.  I did read the issues with the original system.  Some other words of advice was to look at all the external controls, such as the gas Pedal linkages to the transmission/transaxle and the shifter selector.  In reading the information on the gas pedal linkages, I realized I very rarely used the "Overdrive Feature" to push the "pedal to the metal" and shift to a lower gear.  I took the vehicle for a road run on some small hills, and did the old "Pedal to the metal" to get the vehicle to sift down, and go into higher RPM.  After doing this a few times, the issue with the transmission sticking in second gear seemed to go away.  I have been taking the vehicle out, several times per day, for the past week, and no re-occurrence of the original problem.

In talking with some of the local olde wizards, they suggested to leave everything alone, and just wait if the problem comes back.  It could be an external issue to the transmission, such as the pedal transmission adjustment, a sticky cable, shifter adjustment issue. ??? I will be doing one last camping tour and will decide what to do afterwards. Thanks for all the ideas.... Your thoughts? Stuart,Ottawa On Friday, September 6, 2019, 03:16:05 p.m. EDT, C. No, even if you don't love your bus!  If you like we people who drive auto-shift german vans, if you like old-school trannies, if you believe in reusing old tools and not replacing, or if you like the sun, blue skies, birds, cats.  SH*T, even if you like red-dyed-haired presidents, replace that cooler with something that isn't a time-bomb.

Oh, I guess you could piously mix and maintain a perfect coolant cocktail but, really, what the heck IS that?
