I though so too...

having both gas and diesel engines, comparing/searching/thinking about replacing/conversion gas engine vs diesel engine.. I am not sure about diesel engine... price wise is about the same... power wise is ... well may be at best equivalent to an Subaru EJ22 and the Tdi is way heavier than a gas engine...
