I have a dual battery shore power charger which has kept my prior batteries alive for over 10 years. Felt it was time to change out, as preventative. When batteries start to die, it is hard on the alternator. And with a dual system, probably a good idea for less than $200. > > https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.pepboys.com%2Fbosch-premium-performance-battery-group-size-41%2Fproduct%2F9073724%2F1984%2FVOLKSWAGEN%2FTYPE%2520II%257EVANAGON%2F4-1900%2520water%2520cooled&data=02%7C01%7C%7C79a54e614e9740333f7b08d745fdedce%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637054829232143483&sdata=HTFrqb0YzoNZuyW31%2B77KZyH5RYLgmF9DB4E4ntuBiw%3D&reserved=0 > > Note: these batteries do not have a handle, so you will need a battery strap that fits over the terminals to drop them into place.
