Eric, It was a very long time ago so my memory may be off, but I think I went with the original size so as not to risk damaging the seams and/or zipper of the original cover. Because it's high-density foam, it is pretty comfortable. I can't sleep on it because I'm too tall, but my son sleeps like a baby up there.
