Sorry Karl ~ Didn't intend to imply that You don't know what you are doing when it comes to

Diesels & Vanagons ~ I am well aware that You are 1 of the Gurus ~

& while I have never experienced driving a Diesel Vanagon I am well aware of the virtues of a

Diesel vs Gasoline ~ I would probably have a TurboDiesel in My VDubaru if I wasn't so fond of the

Boxer Style Eng' config' ~ Do have to say though that I have never found the EJ25 to be lacking on

Torque even with the almost 29in OD Tires that I have on the Rear ~

& Just for the record > I've been working on Vanagons & Busses & Beetles & other cars - since 1954 ~

I'd recommend not resorting to name calling, especially since you've never met me or have no clue how I drive. Have you driven a half million miles in Vanagons? Do you have a clue about the powerband of a TDI? Obviously not. > > > On 9/10/2019 1:29 PM, OlRivrRat wrote: >> On 10 Sep , 2019, at 2:27 AM, Karl Mullendore wrote: >>> No comparison to the gutless torque of the 'favorite' Japanese engine of today ........ that so many installed. >> Sounds like maybe You have never driven a Vanagon that was powered by an EJ22 or EJ25 that has been >> properly installed & tuned by someone that knows what they are doing ~ >> & "never shifted out of 4th on most hills " sounds to Me like a Lazy Driver that either is not aware of or just >> doesn't Care about the Abuse he is bestowing upon his engine ~
