Fwiw, I use a static balancer after my racing days and lots of tires...Some runs at near 200mph on machine balancer tires had my 928 racer vibrating badly. One track day I had to mount fresh tires with the trackside supplier who used a simple bubble balancer... They were perfect, I could do tires myself, and they've been good every time... Vanagons take a bit of extra care what with the lug-centric rims, but I always had smoother running than if I had a tire shop do it ...
