according to my research Subaru stopped their flat 4 Ee20 Turbo Diesel in North America after a few thousands imported as market research... well... after the VW Diesel fiasco the diesel market in North America went down... Subaru stopped and so Small Car and Boxeer and other shops stopped offering Subaru flat 4 Ee20Turbo Diesel

a flat 4 Ee20 Turbo Diesel would be very nice in vanagon... nicer than any other TDI in fact.
