I am in the same boat with my BB engine. One of Bobs last builds. It was the bigger bore engine. I have maybe 10,000 miles on it. 1991 Westfalia auto

I have a refreshed 2.5 Subaru in the garage.

I am contemplating selling the BB engine or keeping it in the hopes that I can come across a solid late model van

If I was to sell the BB engine, I figured $1200-$1500 is what I’d want. Keeping in mind that I don’t need to sell it.

The low mileage is also a bit of a waring. Long storage short trips/cycles, not used to operating issues etc. can all add up to a hard life for the engine. Before paying a premium price for a used engine I would look for compression, leak down, and oil pressure testing and a peak inside the valve covers as part of my purchase decision. > > If you are looking at removing the engine for a conversion consider selling as complete package including the ECU and wiring harness. The engine has 50,000 miles on it, just enough to break it in really good. The engine has been treated well, and has no problems what ever. This is one of the very last engines Bob built. In fact, it may be the last. I know he was sick when he had this engine and was rebuilding it. I'm just wondering what that engine would be worth, if sold. I have a completely refreshed eg2.5 Subaru engine I could put in the carat. > > Just fishing here folks. Your comment would be appreciated.
