Actually, I am considering going to 16 in wheels and tires. There are some 16x6.5 Pacer wheels available on eBay that have 67mm center bore. They are ET41, so I think wheel spacers may be needed. What do people do about the spare tire when they go to bigger wheels and tires?

Hi Dennis and all,
Glad Dennis is including the original email in his replies as I’m not getting the messages from Jerry any other way.
Great tips as usual.
Also, I checked and Santa is just leaving St. Martin and on the way to Greenland.
This according to Norad via Alexa.
I suspect Dennis will see him later this evening.
Merry Christmas, and Go Santa Go.
P. S. One of my many VW bus Christmas decorations is a door window decal with Santa driving a red bus. Got to love it!
Dennis, I hope your bus is not red! People might suspect it is the special Christmas Eve bus.
Come to think of it aren’t we due our yearly bus story soon?

The clamshell and hold downs are also different. If you have 205/70-14 tires you do want to make sure they are the extra load-reinforced sidewall type. The original load index was 97 and the few available replacements now are 98. Sitting for 6 years they are likely done. The 205/70-14 is just slightly smaller than the 185R14 so the lowering is not done there.

I understand this was a 'limited edition' and one of the things it says in the publicity brochure I recently saw is that it is 'lowered'.Was this Vanagon lower than normal and does this mean it has some unique suspension parts or is that just due to the wheels/tires?My van has the 14" alloy wheels and 205/70-14 tires.I've seen in some coolant hose listings that some special coolant hoses apply to the van with the alloy wheels and 205 tires and I wondered why?
