Hi David,

I’m replying as much to be sure others see your post as to answer.

I’ve often ben tempted by a side door awning permanently mounted. But, currently I love my Bus depot awning. I have the 10 by 10 and it provides a great deal of shade or rain protection. It is also light weight and small to carry. I usually carry mine in the luggage rack along with a mat that fits under it and the matching rear hatch tent. Sometimes even some levelers all fit up there out of my inner space.

The first time you put it up it seems hard. The second time you can’t believe how easy it actually is.

Not as quick as just pulling it out but large, sturdy, light weight, attractive, packs small, and affordable.

I’ve often wondered if I could use two awnings, one permanently there for quick lunch stops and the Bus Depot Easy awning for longer stays.

That would be a great combination.

Currently I usually camp for more than a night at a time so the easy awning is worth the time to put up.

If I had two I’d even consider putting one up on both sides of the van. The shade and place to put items would be great.

I see the Bus Depot product attaches to the rain gutter while the GoWesty option bolts to the side panel. Aside from differences in price, is there a difference between the two ways of attaching the awning in terms of strength and reliability? > > Does anyone have experience with the Fiamma? > > Thanks > Dave B. > Boise
