I started with the message from Chris Snyder noted by Edward.

I have it delivered in my inbox at 9:07 AM PST New Year’s morning, so the message is getting distributed by the server.

Mark McCulley - many ISPs simply send rejected messages to the bit bucket with no notification to the sender. The listserv gives me a list of addresses from where messages were returned, but I do not get the specific message that was returned nor the reason why. I scanned the listserv log for the past day or so, and I can see where delivery to a specific address failed, but again, not the reason why it failed. The listserv simple notes that the delivery failed.

That being said, most of the delivery errors seem to come from gmail. 20 of 21 failed deliveries yesterday were gmail accounts.

I just visited my spam filter and found a number of messages that were in quarantine due to SPF failure of the originating sender. Note: the originating sender, not the listserv.

For starters, If you haven’t already done so, I’d suggest that one whitelist vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com at your mail server level as well as in your mail client. (Typically, log into your mail using a browser and the webmail feature of your mail provider. Eric, yours would be at https://webmail.comcast.com. Find the spam filter settings and whitelist vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com.)

I can’t see anything that would indicate that this issue is anywhere in the listserv or the listserv settings.

The digests however… If you are getting unreadable digests, try sending the following command to the listserv:

to: listserv@gerry.vanagon.com

subject: you can put whatever you like here, it’s ignored

in the body of the message: SET VANAGON DIGESTS/NOHTML/MIME

and see if that fixes the formatting for you.
