As I did with a slightly wider 15" tire, if one keeps the spare tire carrier hinge as-is and uses a spacer to lower the front end of the carrier, be sure to enlarge the bolt hole in securing tab on carrier to allow the 19 mm head securing bolt to thread in properly. If you don't enlarge the securing tap hole, the bolt will be forced to go in at an angle making it easy for the uninitiated to cross thread that bolt. Repair to the captive nut in frame could be tricky IMO.

I removed the OE spare tire bars above that hold the tire down on the carrier then used a ratchet strap at holes in wheel to pull the tire down on the carrier. Conveniently, the ratchet strap hooks just fit into holes on the carrier. This method has worked reliably to keep the spare tire from moving around.
