I recently read a post from a neighbor on my local Nextdoor forum who
claimed that portable space heaters shouldn't be used in homes because they
start fires. I pointed out that fireplaces and gas stove-tops also start
fires...

You will always get the paranoid and downright ill-informed and they all
have a compulsive need to share. I correct, ridicule (ideally both at the
same time) or ignore and move on. Your opinions and ideas are far more
valued by most us than you may believe.
