Hi Alistair,

I’ll soon have the GW engine management system. We are putting on visual gages for things like oil pressure, temp, and transmission temp but I”m still relying on my drivers. Maybe that system uses a modern ECU and I could potentially get some of those readings on my phone.

I’d love to be able to watch those readings plus coolant temp and tires on my phone.

I usually monitor with my ears. But as I’m getting older that is less reliable.

I used to be able to tell my air cooled bus speed reliably from the sound of the engine and feel of the ride. Wish I still had those young ears and the modern iPhone app!

He has dongle on that ecu and connects to iPhone. He’s not as much of a tech diddler as I like to be so he doesn’t use the wireless link as I would. I’d have a dedicated old iPad mini on all the time and the virtual guages etc. The one little kink is that the update frequency is not as fast as you’d like. But it’s workable . > > But no joy for us with old engines and engine management systems > > Alistair > >> On Feb 14, 2020, at 6:35 PM, Eric Caron <ericcaron96@comcast.net> wrote: >> >> Does anyone have experience with a iPhone or other version?
