Hi Julianna,

It was so nice to see your post! Hearing your voice so clearly through your writing brought back some great memories.

I think it is great how you felt like meeting Jim Felder was like meeting a legend. I feel the same way about many of the people on this list. I would love to do a trip to meet many of the folks I’ve met here.

But, You young folks are legends as well. You absolutely keep the spirit of these busses and the joy in life they represent alive.

Reading your post reminded me of the visit we had at my Pownal VT house a few years ago. You were just getting things ship shape on your camper.

In true VW bus spirit you were traveling and improving the bus as you went. Little issues like a missing headlight or missing pop up tent were no problems for you.

If memory serves you stoped off at John’s Car Corner and picked up the used headlight parts you needed. And while the men watched you installed it. Later at my house we discovered one of your utility doors needed love and I had an extra one I had saved from my bus. Then when I woke up in the morning you have removed your old tent, had one you had created from some crazy colored fabric and were installing it in place with dexterity and creativity. It was up and working before you left.

I was amazed by the tent project as you did it in a way no others could have and in the photos I showed people they loved it.

I hope to see you on the road again. Or come visit at my new home in Brattleboro, no longer living at the Pownal VT location. This is an even better location for Westfalia visitors.

Keep sharing your posts and know that as far as I’m concerned you are a legend!
