Hi folks,

This is great info.

I think it would be great to first start with improving my existing horn and adding my own personal button!

I remember my horn was not working well when the bus arrive. I ordered a replacement horn. When I put it on it sounded worse then the original. I then thought to clean up the metal tabs on the original horn, and that helped a great deal.

So, adding a relay and or stronger wires is very tempting. I would only want two horns if they sounded the same. Is there a way to tune the original horn design?

I’m planning to order that relay and my future projects are piling up!

Also, may need to fine a good original horn to possibly use if I double up.

Hey Jim Felder, got one in your Alabama stash?

Oh, wait, I think my local VW guy would let me crawl around in the mud to get one if I ask nicely.

As we approach a vW gathering or depart friends she almost never sends out the fun beep beep. Yet, she is good about hitting the horn in traffic situations, however, the beep at that time isn’t very helpful. > > So, how about a loud horn for her and the happy traditional beep for me? > > Ideas welcome, > > Maybe it is good that I don’t have my van now during lock down in VT. The horn comes from Just Kampers in England. I'm not sure if there is any branding on it besides that. > > > > Ron Salmon > > The Bus Depot > > www.BusDepot.com
