Hi Eric,
I did mine a bit differently than the GW instructions, perhaps a bit less
"professional" but it's worked out fine for me. My van is a Westfalia and
has no A/C and I didn't want to drill any holes.
What I did was:
1. I tucked the wires into the rubber seal for the rear hatch and routed
them towards the drivers side of the van.
2. Near the upper left corner of the hatch opening, I split off the
ground wire and grounded it using an existing screw.
3. I continued routing the "hot" wire tucked into the rubber seal down
the left side of the hatch opening and around the bottom left corner to a
location above the left tail light. Here there just happened to be a split
in the rubber seal where I was able to break out the wire and run it down
the outside of the van about an inch to the tail light where it slips in
between the van body and the seal for the tail light assembly.

Hope this is helpful.
