Dennis, I have the South African foil replacement thing going on. I disconnected it to try start. Right now I don’t know if no dash connection will allow start.

Will it?

Unless component failure on other side I wouldn’t count that as the smoking gun. While not a fan of swapping parts until it works you may be at that point. All the injectors fire as a batch, all in parallel do if 1 is cycling most likely they all are. However again I have seen harness and connector failures. FWIW a defective tach or wiring to it can also disable the ignition coil. The dynamic oil pressure control board also gets the signal off the ECU control side of the coil. How it knows when you are over 2,000 rpm. Yes the instrument cluster foil can shut you down. > > Dennis > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Alistair Bell > Sent: Sunday, March 29, 2020 5:31 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Engine died, ecu quick look > > I couldn’t help myself, popped it apart. > > What do you think about the circled area?
