Thought I’d start another subject just to keep things tidy :-) Lots of opinions and lots of info about electrical connection treatments. Not crimps, or solder, just the terminal to terminal. I’ll start ball rolling. Obvious first thing is the parts shiny clean On male and female spade connectors I’ve been using de oxit d15 on new and old connections. Not sure if it has a lasting effect. On ring and fork connections, and the battery etc, I use Dow stop cock grease. Almost out of the big old tube I’ve had for years. I think the silicone dielectric grease in FLAPS pretty well same thing. Not sure if dielectric is really a good name for it. It’s non conductive but doesn’t inhibit the metal to metal contact. Will help in reducing oxidation in connection though. As an aside, I’ve always wanted to have a wee bottle of that stabilant-22, contact enhancer. I think Vw even mentions it somewhere in a digifant tech bulletin. Remember when it also was touted by those audiophile types? :-) Alistair |
