I have a distinct memory -back in the early to mid 80’s - of stopping at a red light within sight of la basilique Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré while driving a Lada only to watch my passenger-side front wheel continue on through the intersection and, eventually, into a snowbank. To my surprise, the vehicle remained level, making me question for a second whether it was really my wheel en-route to the ski hill. After retrieving the wheel and placing it in the rear of the Lada, I was able to nurse it along for two blocks to a garage.
