On my 1981 and 1988 ABA engine swaps I used a piece of split coolant hose with cable straps around it to help keep it from moving. And IIRC, I added RTV between hose and body to better seal against water ingress though I'd guess there's not a large chance of that happening.

Possible tip:

If it doesn't strain the wires, connector too much, leaving the harness wire length "long" to ECU may allow the ECU connector to be positioned more easily up under the rear bench seat when doing any electrical testing with VOM between ECU connector and various items in engine bay.
