Great videos, but one issue with the first one.

He largely dismisses a 2kw model as having some drawbacks due to design differences with the larger units. However the 2kw units I have purchased don't have those differences. Mine are simply a physically smaller version but otherwise the same as the 5kw he shows, i.e. with an externally accessible glow plug.

Here is a photo of my compact 2kw version that came today.

He is correct that many of the units advertised as 2kw are really the larger 5kw ones, certainly as far as external dimensions. But the 2kw ones I have are scaled down versions and as such fit better into certain Westy locations.

Like others I have been happy enough with my Propex heaters but now prefer to use all electric fridges. This means I can usually do without the heavy Westy propane tank since my cooking doesn't use much propane.

I won't mount a diesel tank inside my vans so that remains for me as the problem to be solved. The smell of spilled diesel may never go away if it soaks into wood or gets into any nooks or crannies.
