I just installed the Renogy DCC50S DC-DC solar charger for my two 100 Watt solar panels on the roof of the van. It's great to have one relatively small device that can charge the starter battery and house battery through solar and/or alternator. I have also looked into the possibility of hooking up shore power. I believe the easiest way is to connect a battery charger to the house battery. This would charge your house battery when connected to shore power, but not the starter battery. That shouldn't really be a problem as the starter battery is typically not discharged while camping.
