Have you tried a Fuel Pump? My 2.1 was hard starting and lumpy idle. A new pump was amazing. I pulled it apart and one of the brushes was all the way down and the armature was chewed up. I chased a bunch of issues until one day it would not start and I whacked the pump with a hammer and it started up. It was the furthest thing from my mind.
