The problem seems to be as Dennis said I have opened up the rubber tubbing the 5 wires are in The tubbing aprox 10 inches is rather damaged crincked hard etc So think will cur and remove aprox 24 inches of the 5 wires and place them back in a new tube The most likely splice connection will be the standard crimp type ….. is there any reason toe soldier the connection instead ? Use shrink tube on the 10 splices /.connections and place them in this tubbing from West Marine And finally secure the tubing with the wires to the rear sheet metal rather than having them sitting on the sheet metal over the muffler
