Ok thanks

Just took a look for the relay block for the high speed fan relay for ac Using the Bentley as a guide

Removed the bottom grill cover and see wires connected looking through a small hole in the fiber shield which most likely are for the High speed ac fan

But there is that fiber shield for directing air flow that restricts access … did remove one screw securing it to the front sheet metal

Am not sure how to remove the fiber air flow director thing without damaging it

Any tips on removing it

And am I in the correct place ?

thanks again for all

ed

From a service point of view consider placing the relay near the fuse box, marked and obvious for its purpose. The advantages include where to look when needed and the wire that is powered full time is kept short. If this is a late model with AC you can also pick battery power from the relay block for the high speed fan relay. This is dedicated feed from the battery that is only used for high speed fan operation. This is also a good spot for headlight supply. > > Dennis > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List <vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com> On Behalf Of Edward Barger > Sent: Saturday, June 20, 2020 1:39 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: power source for new "air" horn advice on power source > > Installed a new air horn behind the passenger side headlight assembly Not the gowesty kit > > Plan to place the relay close by on the same wall near the new horn and use the original horn wire to activate > > Have run a “hot “ wire to the back of the fuse box by the drivers door As per gowesty instruction video > > Along the left side of the fuse bock there is the large red wires and several smaller wires all attached on the same strip > > and there is one connector spade left not in use I assume I can use this for the power source for the new horn > > and I will need to have an inline fuse at this point > > > I find that now that I am older sneaking up on 80 I am more cautious so checking for the wisdom of the ages > > > thanks > > ed > > > > Edward V Barger > edvbarger@yahoo.com > 310 922 6251 > “Age is an issue of mind over matter … > If you don’t mind it doesn’t matter " > Mark Twain
