Now perhaps more confused   Mark says it’s by the fuse box behind the dash and that is the area I was gonna to source power until 


Dennis informed me of the power source much closer 

Dennis says to use the high speed fan relay because if is so much closer .. less distance to have a Hot wire run 

Sounds like a good suggestion 

I looked at the Bentley and it shows the large resistor behind the drivers side head light   and there they are 

Bentley Page 87.3 shows raider fan electric  bits and pieces up front near the radiator 

And I see the plug 

So do I continue to struggle to remove the baffle to access what I now think is the place to source power

Notes from Mark and Dennis 

You can't access the high speed relay from outside of the van.
It lives inside, at the left end of the area behind the dash.
It is hard to see without removing something but up above the fuse panel, screwed to the van body.

Yes, those connectors on the left side of the fuse box are good for power. An in line fuse for this job is perfect. From a service point of view consider placing the relay near the fuse box, marked and obvious for its purpose. The advantages include where to look when needed and the wire that is powered full time is kept short. If this is a late model with AC you can also pick battery power from the relay block for the high speed fan relay. This is dedicated feed from the battery that is only used for high speed fan operation. This is also a good spot for headlight supply.

The high speed fan relay is above the fuse box. Again this is for the later Van's with AC and the huge fan motor. Another give away is the large resistor behind the driver side headlight.
