Subject: 1991 westy - power steering belt problem
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

1991 westy Hi all, I have lost my power steering v-belt 3 times in the last two years. I don't remember each exact condition but I think it commonly was while I was using air conditioning. Typically the belt comes off and then causes the other two to get destroyed in the process causing overheating etc.

Question is why is the belt coming off? It appears to be tensioned properly - using the correct size 10x1075. Can it be related to the power steering itself? The latest belt was dry and not covered with oil or coolant, not cracked. The top edges of the V were frayed a little.

Any thoughts on long term solutions would be appreciated?

Sincerely, Kevin
