Dan,
Thanks for the thoughts and tips.
I have tried to keep to Continental buying from the main vendors supporting vanagons in the marketplace.
Sincerely,
Kevin

hi Kevin,
he creates a rougher surface, also you may want to check the size and the brand of the belt, he recommends Continental and nothing else.. for some reason that he didn't say other brands will fit but give problems.

Dan,
I did look at that alignment and it looks pretty good. I will follow up on that thought though. I will also confirm the pulleys are the stock size too.
Regarding the surface of the pulleys - Do you mean that he smoothed the pulleys out or created a rougher surface instead?
Thanks.
Kevin

I've lost the power steering belt twice and the last one took the dipstick tube with it. My mechanic checked the pulley alignment and it was good.. he rough out the pulley with a piece of sandpaper and that's it.

Hi,
The PS belt, once it came off got jammed into the other belts and they came
off. But the PS belt has come off where I caught it before it took out the
other belts. Should have mentioned that...
Thanks!
Sincerely,
Kevin
