I've used my bench grinder to re-shape items, rather successfully!

VW came back and said the part is discontinued and not available. Guess I
am back to the rubber gasket idea. I wonder if plumbers putty would work
better?

Great suggestion, thanks. I just sent a message to the local VW dealer to
see if they can get them. If they cannot then I think your idea is a good
approach while I wait to see if Van Cafe gets them in stock. I tried using
silicone but that was useless.

those washers are fiber and break easily when you take them out. I made one
with a piece of rubber from the bicycle inner tube.
if you don't want to wait, cut a square piece of rubber, make a hole to fit,
put it on and round it off with the tip of an X-acto knife.

I just replaced the trim around the driver and passenger windows, including
the vent windows. When I took the vent window glass out on one side two of
the pressure washers crumbled. The only supplier I have found is Van Cafe,
and they are out of stock. Does anyone know of another source or an
alternative to using the pressure washers?
