I am replacing the wiring harness between the alternator and starter with the GW upgrade. Hoping I can get it done without going though too much heartache. I have removed the diff lock actuator and can somewhat see what is happening but not entirely sure it is possible without completing other mechanical gymnastics as you suggest.
