Rick,

I've changed rear shoes a number of times. let me know if you run into any issues or have any questions.

You may want to consider changing your rear emergency cable at the same time, since you will have them apart.

Good luck on this project!

Thanks for the link Jack to the Meyle shoes -- they fit my budget and I plan to order them.

Those were interesting images Neil, thanks for sending. I'd forgotten about ETKA and how useful those diagrams are.

Thanks again guys.

RockAuto.com has rear brake shoes available that are apparently made by

Volkswagen. Maybe these are overstock they are unloading?

My question is that rockauto has four listings for the 1987 Vanagon

campmobile: two (primary and secondary) for each of the right and left

wheels. Did/does Volkswagen really sell their brake shoes by the individual

shoe? In any case, I need new brake shoes. Any recommendations?

I'd also like to buy LED dash lights. I've bought some from VanCafe in the

past and they fit and work fine, but they don't seem to last very long. And

they are expensive to ship to Canada. If anyone has an alternative source

for those, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks, Rick
