Thanks David!
By any chance do you still have a copy of the detailed instructions you received from GoWesty? If so, could you send them to me?

I think the Bus Depot screen adn the one from GoWesty are identical in design. At least the photos look the same. Mine from GoWesty came with detailed instructions, and it had the screws included, stainless like the snaps. But they were not self tapping, I had to drill to install the snaps. I hope you get a tighter fit than I did, however. Bugs can get in in places on mine. But it is way better than just leaving the door open, no screen.

However, there are not any suggestions or instructions where to install the snaps. I found these postings on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3fCZFTpOfw & in French... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OwA2TmzgIQ Does anyone have experience with installation of this great screen? I have an 84 Westy Wolfie, with the older style door (with the quiet close rear handle). BD provided the response below. Thanks! Jack

It is a clone of an original German screen and if there were instructions for the original (which would have been entirely in German anyway) we have never found a copy. Basically you will want to have someone help you hold it up, mark out the spots to screw in a few of the included snaps around the door opening as desired, test-fit it, and then install the rest of the snaps. In terms of orientation, there is a slit near the bottom of the screen and that goes toward the front of the van, not toward the bench seat. Most people use self-tapping screws (available at any hardware store or home center) to attach the snaps because then you don't have to drill first. > |
