It does - thanks. When I got the seat it didn’t come with screws so I guess I’ll find some. Honestly there seems to only be about 2 inches between the seat and the sliding door so not sure how much it could move anyway.

It is/was held down by the rails (that I have since removed). The screws that went through the bottom of the seat into the rails just kept it from sliding side to side. So the rails are critical to securing it in place and the screws keep it for sliding into the cabinets or the slider. Sliding side to side could also be a safety issue in an accident. > > Dave B > Boise > ________________________________ > From: Vanagon Mailing List <vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com> on behalf of Rob <vwrobb@GMAIL.COM> > Sent: Saturday, August 22, 2020 2:24 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> > Subject: Re: How to install the Westfalia sliding bench? > > I put a middle seat into a Westy once, > https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=426830 .
