Starting during the 85 model year production that front lower shock mounting used a tapered bushing on one end of the long bolt. If yours needs that bushing make sure you have it. If someone left it out the long bolt is more likely to loosen. I'm a bit surprised you didn't mention any sounds coming from the shock area while driving.
