Thanks for the advice. Pretty much my line of thinking.
About the underside: Mine is in great shape, flocking wise, but it still
has 37 year old mold that came from germany. Not really bad, but
everywhere. Somewhere recently on the list, a product called Concrobium was
mentioned to get rid of mold. I ordered some and tried it. Meh. Then I read
the instructions on the bottle. It said the mold inhibitor had to get all
the way through fibers if dealing with them. So I resprayed and worked it
in a little with a brush. WOW! Mold gone, stains very very light. It's so
much better to deal with than clorox because it doesn't hurt anything else
in the car, or your eyes or lungs. I did the skylight area and surrounding
fuzz to prove that it worked satisfactorily. I will wait until the top is
on sawhorses upside down before I try to finish the job, since it is
coming off anyway.
