Jim,

I’m trying to remember the few times I’ve done this . Maybe the pain of it makes it hard to recall.

I think I loosened all of the hinge to steel roof bolts first. Then raised roof to remove top of h bar to pop top bolts and folded the h bar and secured with many cable ties and or twine. Supported the roof on a milk crate on top bunk. Then back to the loosened bolts and removed. The pop top sort of balanced on the milk crate. Takes a couple of folk to remove the top from Van .

I’m not even mentioning the tent. But now I will. If replacing it, just cut It free.

I’m assuming you’re taking the roof off. Great time to paint it, and flip upside down and clean the fuzz. Or maybe you’re going to “carpet” the roof. If so, I found that the citrus based paint stripper does a good job of removing remaining flocking.

Alistair
