Run a brake booster line check on the vacuum line from the engine to your brake booster. Smoke test the intake of the engine, make sure there's no leaks anywhere in the system Where abouts are you located? I have the knowledge and tools to bandaid a fix if you are located in BC, canada. Unless you have verified you have no vacuum leak, and also have a Air/Fuel ratio sensor, don't play with the insides of the Airflow meter. (that's what I would test, if you have a Air/fuel sensor gauge) Do you have a Cylinder head temp gauge? Are you running hot? I'm thinking you are.
