Jim, yes the rain will pass between the awning and the rain gutter. Easy fix. Clean the surfaces well and put a strip of Gorilla tape between the awning case and the drip rail, problem solved. Rain will also fall onto the inside of the sliding door when its open. I’ve added a piece of material to the rear part of the awning and attached it to the rain gutter with clips to keep the rain from attacking the inside of the sliding door.
